Job Description

NeilMed Pharmaceuticals seeks a skilled and pragmatic Senior Counsel to join our in-house legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Counsel will provide strategic legal advice and operational support across all functions of the business, with a focus on intellectual property management and advertising law. The ideal candidate will have signifi cant experience in drugs and devices and/or healthcare consumer products industries and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment on a broad spectrum of legal matters.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and implementing policies for functional departments.
  • Reviewing marketing practices and materials to ensure compliance with FDA, FTC, and other promotional laws
  • Assessing and challenging competitors for IP infringement, misleading advertising and unfair competition
  • Drafting and reviewing submissions to the FDA, FTC and other regulatory bodies
  • Creating templates, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of contracts, including distribution agreements, supply agreements, acquisition agreements and others
  • Submitting and responding to cease-and-desist letters and other pre-litigation matters
  • Support the protection of NeilMed’s intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
  • Assisting General Counsel with other legal matters as needed

Job Experience

Skills & Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred)
  • 5–10 years of relevant legal experience, with at least 3 years in-house preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with advertising and intellectual property law
  • Eagerness to get up-to-speed on less familiar areas of the law
  • Strong research, negotiation and drafting abilities
  • Efficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities

Compensation
$175,000+ and discretionary bonus
